We're Back!

Well Miss Emmalynn is back in the hospital. I know right?! She has a clogged salivary gland with a fever to boot! Poor girl can't catch a break! Such a random thing to happen too!

It all started on my birthday when she was acting kinda fussy, and then that night she felt a little warm. The next morning I was kissing her cheek and noticed it was super hard. I turned on the light and noticed it slightly red. I obviously didn't notice any swelling because hello she has chubby cheeks!  I called the pediatrician right when they opened and they said go to the ER. The one perk of having a trach baby, especially a preemie, is you walk up to the desk and they send you right back to a room.

Her ENT just laughed when he came in the room. He couldn't believe this happened to her. Because of her fever, staph, size, and history they admitted her.

They couldn't get an IV in her and she was so good about it. Micro preemies have really bad spidery veins. They ended up calling the NICU and having one of her primary care nurses do it since she new Emmalynn (and what a pain her veins are - thanks Lynda).

She was overly tired after ultrasounds on her cheeks and being poked so many times. They had me just hold her and they pushed me in the bed up to the pediatric floor.

Hooked up to those darn machines again. Oh well, they helped her get some relief and much needed sleep.

And these amazing doctors that took care of her in the NICU came to say hi! They said she looked so good in just a week of being home! We miss these friendly faces!
